Title: Pruddy's Inn.

Pairings: Pansy/Remus

Woo! It's... story time. [13 Jan 2004|01:01am]
[ mood | creative ]

Title: Adamo Lupum
Pairing: Sirius/Remus
Rating: Oh... R, I suppose? Kinda? I hate rating stories.
Warnings: None, really, unless lycanthropy really scares you (in which case, why are you even thinking of reading Sirius/Remus?)
Summary: Sirius loves everything about Remus, even the wolf that lurks inside him.
Props: [info]pornish_pixies, surprisingly, for putting the idea in my head. Was sort of inspired by their 'Learning By Numbers' challenge. My original idea was Sirius comparing James and Remus, but I think this is nicer and more poignant, in the end. Also to [info]heinous_bitca and [info]primroseburrows for helping me out with titling. ;) And finally, the wit contained within the dashes in the second line of the story is courtesy the late great Douglas Adams (his line went something like "a liquid tasting almost, but not entirely unlike tea").

And without further ado... )

*gasps* She updates! [28 Dec 2003|11:13pm]
[ mood | creative ]
[ music | none. :( ]

It's been ages, yes, I know, but here I am, updating. *waits for applause, gets crickets* Okay, so it's been a while. But yesterday, I was struck with an inspiration I could not get rid of. So I wrote something on the long and winding road from Adelaide to Sydney (which was actually more interesting this time, thanks to a detour through Victoria along the Murray). And, okay, the "inspiration" is a little embarrassing. I was playing Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets on my brand spanking new PS2 (*grins* I love Christmas), and I got stuck trying to sneak past Percy. So, well... obviously I decided to write some Percyfic. I mean, duh. Doesn't everyone write fic about their video game escapades? Jeez. Anyway, without further ado, here's the fic:

Title: Percy's Fingers
Pairing: Not really applicable, though there are Percy/Penny mentions.
Rating: PG-13
Plot: It's not really much of a plot kind of story, it's more of a vignette kind of thing.
Props: As mentioned, PS2 and WB for creating such a prat of a Percy. Not that that really has anything to do with this fic, he actually comes out really well in this story. But I should stop talking now. Thanks.

Percy's Fingers. PG-13. )

Cookie! [14 Nov 2003|10:16am]
[ mood | hungry ]
[ music | The Moffatts - Destiny ]

The story is still tentatively titled "London", which basically means that if I can't come up with anything better before I finish the story then it's going to be called "London".

This is a cookie from the middle of the story (or what I assume will be the middle of the story, as I haven't actually finished the damned thing yet). Draco has just left Pansy's flat, and meets Harry on the way home. For some reason, they have just been throwing punches at one another, and here is the reason. (Sure I'm giving away the crux of the story but haha look at me not caring!)

Just call me "Hardworking Hetti" [02 Nov 2003|06:45pm]
[ mood | creative ]
[ music | Teitur - Poetry & Aeroplanes ]

... you know, or something.

I've been working really hard on this fricking story which doesn't have a title anymore since I decided that "London" was a shitty title for such a good story. It's turned into something a lot different to what I initially imagined. When I first started writing it, it was just a Pansy/Draco story, written to scratch a creative itch the Third Eye Blind song had given me, and also to satisfy my urge of seeing Pansy and Draco together for once (oh, the life of a closeted Pansy/Draco shipper in a Harry/Draco world). I never got anywhere productive, so I gave it up. Then I went through an "ARGH I need to finish all my unfinished crap!" phase, and this story got picked back up (even though something like "Unspoken Words" would have been much easier to finish, in retrospect). I took the song's words very loosely and decided to add some intrigue (aka Harry Potter), and suddenly, the story has to be ten thousand times longer!!!!! </hyperbole>

And you want to know the weirdest thing? The not writing slash. I mean, writing het isn't so bad, I wrote a lot of it in the Hanson fandom, but... oh my god. I've put Harry and Draco together in two scenes in this story already, and they have just stubbornly NOT wanted to make out with each other. It's so freaking weird! Not to mention that if you wanted to read for slashy subtext, it would probably be there. Very very strange.

*clears throat* I also wanted to make it known that I will NOT be participating in NaNoWriMo, even though I signed up. I gave up at approximately 11:59PM on October 31st, when I realised that I had no ideas for a story, nor have I ever written anything over 50,000 words. (Which is a lie, anyway. Veritas was 51,000 words.) So I gave up before the thing even started. So sue me.

I have, however, committed to finishing and editing and making this story the best it can be. Whoo! I wonder what I will do with my time once I have finished this story...

More whining about stories... [10 Oct 2003|07:36pm]
[ mood | creative ]

I love writing, but when things come in unexpected, it sort of annoys me. I'd had all these plans for this untitled Draco/Pansy story, and then Harry turns up and messes up the whole thing! My plans for the story were to end it at a point that I got to just yesterday. But no, oh no, the story must go on, apparently. I couldn't end it where I wanted to, because there was more to the story. So instead of ending it yesterday and spending my writing time editing, I have to keep writing this forever and ever. Because at the point I've run out of thoughts for this story, I know the story can't end. There will be the same open ends that I have now, so BLAH. I have to actually THINK and WRITE and stuff.

However, I am enjoying it. This story is actually quite fun. I got to write a fight scene between Harry and Draco last night, which was really a highlight of my writing career. And it's HET! I'm actually enjoying writing het, and enjoying it, and loving the story. It's crazy. *g*

And, again, if anyone wants to beta it when I'm done, I would be much obliged. I need people who will hit me with a grammar stick, spelling stick, and general sentence structure stick. I trust my plot, but I'll need the general "inconsistencies" beta. So leave a message if you know someone reliable and quick. I don't know when I'm going to finish it though. This might be a while in the making. ;)

All right, off to watch The Italian Job (the new version).

Change of plans. [23 Sep 2003|12:08am]
[ mood | creative ]
[ music | Shelley Duvall - He Needs Me ]

So apparently I didn't feel like writing the Percy/Penny this weekend. Last night I stumbled across a nice Pansy/Draco that I started writing in the winter, and I've decided to make that my project for this week. Fingers crossed, I'll have it done by the weekend. It's a nice, sexy piece with the funnest Pansy ever created (that is to say, my Pansy), inspired by a Third Eye Blind song.

However, what's tripping me up is -- can you believe it -- pronouns. Since there are two different pronouns in this story (he/him, she/her -- so shoot me if they're not called pronouns), as opposed to just the one, I'm getting really confused as to when to write he and when to write she. It's rather perplexing.

But at least I'm writing, hey? ;)

Anyone want to beta it when I'm done?

Original Drabble [21 Sep 2003|01:29am]
[ mood | contemplative ]
[ music | njósnavélin (4) -- Sigur Rós ]

Something random I wrote just now listening to Sigur Ros. I tried to start on the Percy/Penny I've been thinking about, but I was also trying to relax for some reason, and so this is what came out. I think it's about my life at the moment. I mean, the parallels are obviously there. But it also could have just been about me trying to relax. Who the hell knows. I don't write like that -- you know, with a purpose.

So. *takes a deep, cleansing breath* Here it is.

This be a meme. But I thought it was more fitting to put it on here, as it is a FANFIC MEME! ) Whee!

I'll get working on that Percy/Penny tomorrow. Promise. :D

W00t! [19 Sep 2003|12:01am]
[ mood | creative ]
[ music | Never Do Anything -- Barenaked Ladies (prophetic, no? ;)) ]

I just had a brain storm with myself this evening while waiting at the T stop, and because I was listening to the wonderous Coldplay, a bunny floated into my head and I thought, "Wah, I must have this plot!". You know, as you do. So I thought about the song I was listening to ("The Scientist"), and... well, I'm sure the bunny I have has nothing to do with the song, but I got the title from it. "Back to the Start" is to be a Percy/Penny story, pre-OotP (because really I'm too lazy to figure out post- or even during-OotP Percy right now), and I'm not saying anything else because it might give away the ending. I'll work on this bunny over the weekend and we'll see where it takes me.

I'm taking votes on how much you guys really want to see old recycled stories on this journal. Seeing as there are only five of you or whatever, I figure you guys won't mind seeing some commentary on my old stuff, but if anyone has any objections, speak up. ;)

New Purpose [11 Sep 2003|01:48pm]
[ mood | hopeful ]
[ music | Break Me Shake Me -- Savage Garden ]

This journal's sole purpose is for posting ficlets, drabbles, story jabber, and general wibbling about my writing habits. If you're looking for Harry Potter fandom commentary or my personal life, check out my personal journal.

This journal will inclue any sort of fiction I dare to write -- this includes such offensive topics as underaged sex, bondage, and the Hanson brothers (quite possibly all in the same story). But I don't promise anything. If you can't handle these things, don't read.

Also, I will friends-lock all NC17 rated stories -- which will likely be rare -- so if you want to read those, leave a comment on this post and if you're over 17 (or if I know you - heh) you will be added to the friends list.

Thanks for reading, and I hope that the existence of this journal will encourage me to write again. :)
